This month we have invited Chaz Friend, founder of Wayside Willow based in Nuneaton, to come and talk to us on Monday 9th December.
At our evening meeting Chaz will tell the story of his journey into willow, talk about some of the processes of his craft, looking at some of the seasonal elements and talk about some of the different basketry styles and how the are built.
He’ll mention the sculptural styles he uses and conclude with looking at living willow structures and the sustainability of willow and why it’s good to use it.
Doors open at 7:30 as usual and the meeting will start around 7:45.
We’ll be having a glass of wine and a mince pie too, as it’s our last meeting before Christmas.
